a. Note:   [Roger Bell.GED] Orange Co. Va. Chancery Court ended 1845: Microfilm LVA 585, Beginning with image 44 concerns a case between William Bell and Brockman Bell and DABNEY WRIGHT. The Bell's were trying to secure property from Dabney to provide for his children by Sally, because they thought he could not handle his property well. They won and later Dabney sued because he said he was too drunk to know what was happening. By the way, this case said that William Bell had removed to Georgia. Orange County Deed Book 32, p. 99, 100 dated 25 July 1831: In margin: Original received William Bell 25 July 1831. This indenture made this twenty seventh day of November 1826, between DABNEY WRIGHT of the first part and WILLIAM B. BELL of the second part Whereas the imprudeness of the said DABNEY WRIGHT render it necessary that he should impose some restrictions upon himself in the management and dispositions of his estate so as to prevent impositions and frauds upon himself and family. Slaves mentioned: York, Geb. Eusar, Harry, Becky, Louisa, Amily, Susan, five horses, seven head of cattle, twenty sheep, five featherbeds and furniture, two desks, one waggon and gear, plantation tools, one shotgun, one cupboard. Children listed, Lancelot Wright, Dabney Wright, Sarah and Elizabeth Wright, Mahaley Wright. DABNEY WRIGHT purchased land bordering Joseph Wright (Orange Co. Deed Book 27, p. 276, dated 18 Feb 1818) In 1840 William B. Bell died and his estate was probated. No wife mentioned. The estate was sold and Roger Bell bought a lot of items. The estate paid amounts of money to the following: Brockman Bell, Roger Bell, Susan Carlton, Elizabeth Bowling, John S. Bowling, A. B. Bowling, DABNEY WRIGHT, Richard Carlton, Dr. E. Beall, James M. Beall (attorney for B. Beall) Lancelot Wright............ 1818 Dabney Wright purchased 75 acres adjoining Joseph Wright from John Ellis and his wife, Mildred for $750.00 Orange County Deed Book 27, p. 276 1826 Dabney & Matilda sell 75 acres previously purchased from John Ellis to Thomas J.
