Note: Conflicting info from obituary: No son named Henry Hubert. Don't know who surviving Sisters Mrs. Herman DECKER and Mrs. Joseph WENEKE are. Probably her half Krogmeier sisters. Henry Hubert wasn't on the 1990 census, so maybe he died before then? From Lee co., Iowa newspaper dated January 31, 1912, Wednesday: Deaths HERMES -- At the residence in West Point township, at 4:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 1912, Mrs. Mary HERMES, of pneumonia, aged 55 years, 2 months, 8 days. The deceased had lived her entire life in the community where her death occurred, the family occupying a farm about five miles out of Fort Madiosn on the lower West Point road. She was a member of the Sacred Heart church of this city and the Rosary society of that chruch. Besides her husband, George HERMES, there survive her four children: Bernard, Herman and Mrs. Stephen KROGMEIER of this city; Miss Maggie at home. The surviving brothers and sister are Henry SCHULTE, Mrs. Anthony HELLING, Mrs. Herman DECKER, Mrs. Joseph WENEKE and Stephen KROGMEIER. Funeral from Sacred Heart church at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Rev. Peter HOFFMAN officiating; interment at Sacred Heart cemetery. On June 12, 1860, was enumerated in West Point Township, Iowa.
