a. Note:   r. who married Nancy Brewer in Oglethorpe Co., GA. Betty says that their son Thomas J. Brittain married Susan Oakes, who was daughter of Isaac Oakes, Jr., son of Isaac, who was son of John. Susan's father's family was from Orange Co., VA and Isaac migrated from Orange Co. to Oglethorpe Co., GA, and to Perry Co., AL. Other sources (Melba Dingler and Charlene Ebeling) report that Susan's mother was Lucy Wisdom, dau of Ursula Bell and her first husband, Francis Wisdom. A. D. Smith had in his database that Isaac Oakes and Lucy Wisdom m 13 May 1760 Louisa Co., Va. This cannot be right, as Lucy was only born ca 1756. They must have married prior to 10 Apr 1785, when son Thomas was born. 8 Dec 1815.  ClarkeCo., GA Deed Book K, p85-86.    Indenturebetween Henry Bolling & Isaac Oakes. Signed H.
