Bolling and family with other families, I think the Kellets and Stranges [Sue entered this: Nancy Bolling, sister of Robert, aunt of T. T., married a Strang as 2nd marriage]. They came here (Georgia) direct from Greenville, S. C. There were over 100 wagons, their servants came with them, some were there years after the close of the War between the States. They settled in Summerville about 1840 or 1845. The Indians still lived in that part of the country, I believe they were Cherokee tribes. T.T.Bolling was a Major in the State Militia of Georgia. In those days, the militia was a citizens soldary which met at each county seat for drills and good times, each district being laid off with a view of containing a company. T.T. Bolling was initiated into and a charter member of the Summerville Masonic Lodge - was buried by or with Masonic honors. He was buried from the log house that had been his first home in Summerville, was buried in the Old Johnson Graveyard between Summerville and Bollings Ford.
