Item the 1st I will and bequeath to my five children Charles W. Harris (,) James Harris (,) Sally Thompson, Nancy Kilgore & Polly Smith. Two negro men Billy & Jessee to be sold and the money they may bring to be equally divided amongst them. Recorded July 4th, 1821 [Harris Cousin Ted McClellan stated 22 Mar 1998 that the estate admin. shows a credit due to Henry Brittain (probable brother of Thomas Brittain who married Susannah Bolling, Emily’s sister). Also, there is a sale by John Harris’ heirs in Jasper Co., GA) 1825c. Walton Co., GA, on GA Hwy. 11 between Monroe and US 316. The William Harris Homestead is on the National Register of Historic Places. This William Harris is a son of John Harris, Sr. and Milly Bolling, dau of John Bolling and Ursula Bell from Orange Co., VA to Oglethorpe Co., GA, then to Walton Co. According to research of Donna Harris Hulsey, Emely Bolling [widow] is censused in Walton Co. She died at the home of William Harris, date recorded in the family Bible [after 1850]. 1830 U. S. census, Oglethorpe Co., GA,, p95 Emely Harris head of h/h, 3 m 10-15, 1 m 15-20, 1 m 20-30, 1 f 15-20, 1 f 20-30, 1 f 50-60 ca 1845 GA (Oglethorpe Co.?) This is about Jordan Harris, one of the younger sons of Emily Bolling and John Harris, Sr. Jordan had a tragic life. Donna Harris Hulsey relates the following. After 2 daughters, Frances and Elizabeth, were born, Comfort left Jordan and went back to her mother's house. Jordan followed her and killed her, then returned home. Comfort's brothers found and killed him, leaving two very young children orphaned. Milly and the rest of the family would not allow Jordan to be buried in the family graveyard, instead burying him on the banks of the Appalachee River, which ran through their property. Jordan's brother-in-law, Willia Kilgore, and Comfort's brother Eli Whaley, were appointed guardians of the girls until they reached 18 years of age. (Donna Hulsey 9/13/2005) Bible shows Emily's death on 19 Feb (torn). She lived with son William Harris for 1850 census, so died after 1850, Walton Co., GA.
