Confed. Pension Application #8850 dated 21 Feb 1907. !Obituary: From Union City, TN newspaper, date unknown: Death of Lieut. Henderson Mr. Flave Henderson, about 74 year of age, was found dead Tuesday morning at the home of his kinsman Andy Corum, in the city. Mr. Henderson was an Ex-Confederate soldier, having served in the Civil War as a Lieutenant in the Thirty- Third Tennessee Regiment under General Campbell. In his young days he studied law and was recognized as a man of a brilliant mind. He was, however, retired in manner and did little practice. After the war he went to the Pacific Coast and lived in California until a few years ago before returning to Union City. Deceased was a half brother to Lon Henderson. He was born and reared in this county. (Lon was). His brother Bob was killed at the Battle of Shiloh. Another brother, Ben, died of typhoid fever before the war.
