Note: This is not about Jenny Wishing, but rather "MizGainey", the lady who lived upstairs from Uncle Lee and Aunt Jenny in Buffalo: I could remember, when I was quite young, being taken for visits into the city by my Dad, I knew not where. There was a family downstairs in this home that my Dad knew, and there was a lady upstairs in her own little apartment that Dad would always also visit, and he would introduce me to "MizGainey". My cousin Gail (Farmer > Schuler) had similar experiences, and now in later life we were both asking, "...who was MizGainey?", and who were those people downstairs? On Gail's suggestion, I called our oldest living cousin who might have answers to these questions, to Virginia (Haas) Zimmerman. Now, my visits to MizGainey were sometime in the 1940's, and my questioning call to 'Ginny' was made in 1999! Ginny told me that MizGainey was a nurse (and not a family member), that she was a 'witch', evidently because she was very, very opinionated, and the people downstairs were Uncle Lee & Aunt Jenny (Smith). But I only remember that MizGainey was very nice to me and glad to have my Dad visit. And Uncle Lee and Aunt Jenny were glad for the visit, too. That's one thing that I really admire about my Dad to this day!! ---- Paul Haas, 26 July 1999. ...and tomorrow is my 63rd birthday. ___________________
