a. Note:   Lewis Webster born Aug 2, 1837 married Catharine DuLanty on Feb 24, 1861. Catharine is an orphan from Ireland who was taken in by the Benjamin Jeffries family in Cleveland, Ohio and brought to Ottumwa in 1856 . Her birth date may be Jan 10, 1842.
 Lewis enlisted in the 36th Infantry Company H at Keokuk. He served from Mar 8, 1864 and was discharged at Duvall's Bluff, Ark on Aug 24, 1865. He was paid $360 plus $41 in clothing. He was commended for appearing at each roll call and had had no disciple charges.
 After the war he was constable for the south side of Ottumwa. He may also have been sheriff for Wapello county.
 He was president of the Grand Army of the Republic Tuttle Lodge and headed the encampment in 1921.
 He died on Jan 9, 1922 and Catharine continued to live at 108 Ransom. She died on Jul 15, 1933. They are buried in Evergreen section of Shaul cemetery. With Jay Funeral Home in charge and at the Davis Street church..
