a. Note:   Mrs. Rosa Jane Davis, 86; a widely known woman of Sand-creek township, passed away at 11:50 p. m. Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Maddux, in Westport.
 For the past 15 years she had resided at the homes of various children and for the past year had resided with Mrs. Maddux. She had been confined to bed for-the past six weeks.
 A native of Decatur county, She Was the daughter of Oliver and Eliza Argadine Elliott and was born on Jan. 12, 1865. Practically her entire life was spent in Decatur county and for many years she resided on a farm near Letts.
 Her marriage to Joseph Elbert Davis occurred on Feb. 2, 1887. He passed away in July, 1912.
 Mrs. Davis was a member and an active Worker in the congregation of the Mt. Aerie Baptist church at Letts for many years. She transferred her membership to the Westport Baptist church upon locating there. She was a member and a past noble-grand of the Westport Rebekah lodge.
 The survivors are: Four daughters, Mrs. H. O. (Gloie), Craig, of Greensburg, .Mrs. Nellie Boyd, of Indianapolis, Mrs. Mary Marsh, of Denvert Colo., and .Mrs. Pearl Maddux of Westport; three sons, Harry Davis, of Westport, Raymond Dayis, of . Medina, Adrain Davis, of Madison, Wis.; 22 grandchildren and six; great grandchildren. A brother died in infancy and a sister, Mrs. Clare McGee, preceded her in death. A grandson, Morris Davis, and a great-granddaughter, Linda Sue Cherry, also are deceased.
 Also surviving are a-half-brother, William Elliott, of .Forest Hill; and three half-sisters, Mrs. Anna Voiles, of Letts, Mrs. Hannah Vantreese, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Mary-Mantooth, of Burney. Funeral rites will be held at 1:30 p. m. Saturday at the West-port Baptist church. The Rev. John Cassady, pastor of the church, will officiate/Burial will toe made in the Mt. Aerie church cemetery at Letts.
