 Mrs. Susan A. Davis passed quietly away at the home of her son, Cal Davis, Thursday, Cal Davis, Thursday, October 29,1925 at the ripe age of 79 years, 7 months and 10 days. She had been making her home here for some time past.
 Susan A. Patrick was born near Greenburg, Decatur Co., Indiana. March 18,1865, she was married to Edward Davis and to this union was born seven sons and two daughters. Robert G. Davis, of Iron Mountain, Michigan, Mrs. Florence McGrew of Shenandoah, Iowa, Geo. G. of Arion, John C. and Frank B. of Ute, Iowa, Alva E. and Chas. H. Davis near Castana and James G. Davis of Highland Falls, N.Y.
  One of the two daughters mentioned, Mrs. Mary Jane Nichols departed this life in departed this life in 1889.
  Edward Davis, husband of the deceased, also passed away the same year. Mrs. Susan A. Davis is survived by only one brother, W.W. Patrick of Kennebec, South Dakota, but had twenty-four grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
  Mrs. Davis had joined the M.E. church at the age of 15, and was later united with the later united with the Baptist church in 1862. In this church she remained a member until the disbandment. She was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to the very end when through the door of death she passed into the Paradise of God.
  The funeral servies were held at the Church of Christ, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock.. Rev. Peter Jenesn officiating. The body was laid in its final resting place in the St. Clair cemetery at Ute.
