Notes
a. Note:   Info from IGI, Salt Lake Library. Died in Denver, CO. Taught school. Another source of information for John Hardy M. and his desendents came from Homer Gammill, 16026 Nicklaus Lane, Sun City, Ariz, 85351 in a letter dated March 14, 1980, written to Ortis and Frances (Milholland) Bucher. In his letter he said that this stuff (info) was what his Dad (Finis Gammill) did for Aunt Grace (Milholland) years ago. Atyped page found stuck in Herber R Milholland's ledger book: "IN MEMORIAM, DATED FEBRUARY 7, 1913. Aurther L. Milholland, eldest child of Rev J. H. and Mrs. N. E. Milholland, was born in Colesburg Delaware County, Iowa on May the 6th, 1875 and departed this life in Denver, CO on February the 5th, 1913 at the age of 37 years 8 months and 29 days. At the age of twenty years he publicly entered into covenant relations with the Lord and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Much of his life has been devoted to teaching in the public schools in Illinois and in the city of Denver. He graduated in the Eastern Illinois State Normal School, having previously been a student in Southern Illinois College. Ever earnest and painstaking in his pursuit of knowledge for the sake of the right and of truth, his work as a teacher could not degenerate into mere formal professionalism but was a matter of consecrating all of his abilities, influence and powers to the best and highest interests of each pupil and to the good of the community. The first year of his work in Colorado was in connection with the detention home of Judge Lindsey's Juvenille Court, and those, who were then the most closely associated with him are glad to be listed with his best friends, and a host of friends in Illinois and Colorado bear witness to his manly virtues and to his excellent social qualities. In the home as a child, youth and man there was always much to admire and approve. and in the church, without ostentation, he was a devoted, faithful and willing worker. His parents and the following list of other immediate relatives sadly feel the reality of their great bereavement: Mrs. and Mr. F.I. Gammill of Mead, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Milholland of Indianapolis, Indiana; Miss Grace Milholland of Boise, Idaho; Mr and Mrs H. I. Milholland of Denver; Mr and Mrs H. R. Milholland of Molina, Colorado; and Mr. P. A. Milholland of Charleston, Illinois. All of whom except the two brothers at Indianaplis and Charleston and two sister-in-laws at Molina and Indianapolis were present for the funeral services."
