Note: TY earned his highschool diploma in 3 1/2 years and was then called up for duty, serving as a Pharmist Mate in Guam during the later years of WWII. TY was the first of his family to attend and graduate from college, earning a BA in Education from Bowling Green State Teachers College (not Western KY University) in 1950, and a MA from University of KY. He taught industrial arts and was principle of Mortinsville school in Woodford Co KY. He then took at Principleship at Cub Run High in Hart Co KY for 4 years, worked for Streetman (now Keebler) for 1 year while awaiting an appointment as Postmaster in Mundfordville KY where he served for 15 years. In 1970 he began traveling eastern KY as a Postal Service Officer until the positon was dissolved in 1972 when the US Postal System was separated from the Federal Government. He served as Postmaster in Burkesville, Cumberland Co KY until 1975, then as postmaster in Hopkinsville, Christian Co KY until his retirement in 1986. In 1991 he and Juanita moved to Woodburn, Warren Co KY where he died 9 months later.
