  Margaret came to America in 1908, before World War I and eventually settled in Chicago and worked as a maid and cook for a wealthy family. She met Richard M. Owen who was one of her employers Chauffeurs. Richard & Margaret went on a trip in May 1953 to Ireland, Wales and England. On June 2, 1953, Margaret & Richard saw the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II crowned at a ceremony in Westminster Abbey, London.
  Long time volunteer for the Red Cross in Chicago, IL. In Aug 1941, Margaret Owen, received an award for her work helping the Red Cross Chicago Chapter make 1-million army bandages (Chicago Daily Tribune "Red Cross Units Make 1million Army Bandages"). In November 1950, Mrs. Margaret Owen, received a certificate of merit from the Red Cross for 10-yrs of service (Chicago Daily Tribune "Red Cross Pays Tribute to Long Time Workers").
