Note: Isaac Aylesworth Stone, was born in Verona, N.Y., 6 Feb. 1831. His mother died a week later, so he was reared by his maternal aunt, Mrs. Martha Campbell of Burlington, N.Y., in which town he resided much of his life, engaged in farming.
He married first, about 1857 Phebe Talbot; she had five children and died in 1866.
He married secondly, about 1868 Mary --------, who died about a year later, leaving one child.
He married thirdly, about 1871, Mary Gardner who had five children.
Children by first marriage, born in Burlington, N.Y.:
i. Sheffield Fordyce, b. 5 Mar. 1858; resides in Morris, N.Y. H m. Belle Haines.
ii. Archibald T., b. 21 Feb. 1860; resides in Kingston, N.Y. He m. Jennie George.
iii. Jesse Isaac, b. 1 June 1862; lived some years in Edmeston, N.Y., and then settled in Newbugh, N.Y., where he is a real estate and insurance agent. He m. in Burlington, N.Y., 27 Dec. 1893, his cousin, Mary Madeline Stone, b. in Rome, N.Y., 29 July 1861, daughter of Elhanan and Luna (Townsend) Stone. No children.
iv. Dwight E., b. 5 Oct. 1862; is a farmer in Edmeston, N.Y. He m. Libbie Carpenter.
v. Arthur Grant, b. in Apr. 1866; resides in Newark, N.J. He m. Grace Valentine.

vi. Mary, b. about 1869; d. young. Children by third marriage:
vii. Nellie, b. about 1873; d. in 1904. viii. Jasper, b. about 1875. ix. Henry, b. about 1877. x. William, b. about 1880. xi. Elmer, b. about 1883.
