BIOGRAPHY: David arrived in the USA @1873, according to the 1920 US Census. He was a farmer and merchant according to family members and the US Census.
David told family members that he went to South America before coming to America. He arrived in New Orleans, Louisiana and settled temporairly there. After marrying Mary Ann and having 2 children in New Orleans, he went to Chicago for a while where my grandmother, Catherine Ciulla was born.
He arrived in Pensacola, Florida @ 1887 from Wheeling West Virginia according to family sources in touch with one of my cousins.
My father, Emile Oneto, remembered riding in his grandfather, David's,mule drawn wagon to take crops to "town" to sell. He also had a little store in Brent where he lived and farmed. Brent was a small community NE of Pensacola.
When David died in 1920 without a will, the children contested a peaceful division of the property and eventually lost all of David's extensive farm land in legal battles between themselves. Apparently they had to continually sell off parcels of land to pay legal and lawyers fees according to my father and his mother, Catherine and other family members.
Note:   NAME: Ciulla is recorded as Ciulla or Ciudda in numerous church and civil
