Note:   West Plains Daily Quill Funeral Services for Ruth Ellison Wednesday Funeral services for Ruth Gertrude Ellison, 74, West Plains, will be at 2 pm Wednesday, December 4, 1996, at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, with the Revs Joey Hight and Robert Aborn officiating. Mrs Ellison died at 10:41 pm Friday, Nov 29, 1996, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains. She was born Oct 26, 1922, at West Plains, the daughter of Ab and Rebecca Cook Johnson. On Sept 6, 1939, at West Plains, she married James Edward "Ed" Ellison. She was of the Pentecostal faith with her membership at Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle of West Plains. Survivors include her husband, Ed, of the family home; nine children, James Ellison and wife Tammy, Cabool, Joe Ellison, Bob Ellison, Susan Turnbull and husband Robert Turnbull Sr, Roger Ellison and wife, Debbie, and Sherman Strawn, all of West Plains, Jack Ellison and wife Joyce, Houston, John Ellison, Siloam Springs, and Edith Pringle and husband Charlie, Willow Springs; a daughter in law, Susan Burris, Sedalia; 39 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; one brother, Stanley Johnson and wife Stella, Oakland, Ore; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Kenneth Ellison, one daughter, Edna Strawn, one great granddaughter, Jessica Dawn Turnbull, four brothers, and three sisters. Visitation will be 7 to 8 pm today at the funeral home. The body will lie in state from 5 pm today until noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetis Association and left at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
