Mr Collins died at 9:45 pm Monday, July 25, 1994, at his home in Springfield. He was born Sept 24, 1923, at Roosevelt, the son of Lee and Anthy E Stubbs Collins. He was married August 2, 1947, to Vernia James. Mr Collins was a veteran, having served in the US Army during World War II, and he was a sawyer. Survivors include five children, Joyce Ellison and husband Jack, Houston; Joann Casey and husband Richard, Fayette; Robert Collins, Houston; Herman Collins and wife Katherine, Houston; and Jerry Collins of the state of Washington; six grandchildren, Lanette Doren, Canyon Lake, Calif; Justin Casey, Fayette; Sheila Knierim, Stover; and Kathie Lee Collins, Jonathan Collins, and Jackie Garrett, all of Houston; two great grandchildren; four brothers, Dee J Collins, Kansas City, Mo; James D Collins, Atlanta, Ga; and Charlie Collins and Delmer H Collins, both of West Plains; two sisters, Lucille Blattel, Springfield, and Lill Brewood, Siloam Springs; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bobby Ray Collins; two brothers, Odel Collins and Vick Collins; and one sister, Adnes Allen. Burial will be in Collins Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc, of West Plains.
