Note:   West Plains Daily Quill 12-27-00 Bill Stubbs services Thursday Funeral services for Bill Stubbs, 93, Cleveland, Mo., and formerly of this area, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Dickey Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with Rev. Charles Sutton officiating. Mr. Stubbs died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, at Baptist Medical Center, Kansas City. He was born Aug. 4, 1907, near Siloam Springs, the son of Sol and Nettie Collins Stubbs. On June 3, 1938, he was married at West Plains to Ola Collins. Mr. Stubbs was a warehouse worker at Crooks Warehouse, Kansas City, until his retirement in 1971. He was a member of Teamsters Local 41, Kansas City, and had lived in Kansas City before moving to Cleveland in 1996. Survivors include his wife, Ola Stubbs, of the family home; four sons, Walt Stubbs, Pittsburg, MO. Billy Joe Stubbs, Kansas City, Kan., Garry D. Stubbs, Lawson, and Rick Stubbs, Cleveland, Mo.; three daughters, Ruby Jane Higginbotham and Peggy Ruth Taylor, both of Kansas City, Mo., and Mary Alice Greer Freeman, 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson, Brandon Schons; a son-in-law, Jack Greer; three brother, Walter, Time and Zeke; and five sisters, Lucy, Winnie, Girley, Aline and Vinie. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, under the direction of dicky Funeral Home.
