Note: West Plains Daily Quill, March 10, 1959 John Morris Ellison Dies at His Home John Morris Ellison, 75, 321 E Cleveland Ave, died at 12:15 yesterday afternoon at his home. Mr Ellison was ill for a year suffering from complications due to his age. He was born in Douglas County April 14, 1884, to the late George W and Cynthia Farrow Ellison. He spent his entire life in Howell and Douglas counties. On August 1, 1915, he married Vena Hunter. In March of 1950 he married Bertie Taylor who survives him, as do two sons, Alfred L Ellison, New York City, and Ed Ellison, West Plains; a daughter, Mrs Jessie Ford, West Plains; six brothers, Luther Ellison and Alva Ellison, both of Kennett; Lewis Ellison, Mtn View; Tom Ellison and George Ellison both of Siloam Springs; and Otis Ellison, Seymour; a sister, Mary Osborn, Willow Springs; a step son, Billy Gibson, Gary, Ind; 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Seventh Day Adventist Church with the Rev H B Petrey officiating.
