Note: From the West Plains Daily Quill, Tuesday, January 11, 1960 GEORGE W ELLISONS FUNERAL HELD AT SILOAM SPRINGS Funeral Services for George William Ellison were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Siloam Springs Church with Rev. Ira Johnson officiating. Mr Ellison died Wednesday at his home. Mr and Mrs Ira Johnson and Arlene Johnson with Stella Murrell accompanying sang "Where They Never Grow Old", "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be", and "Rock of Ages." Pallbearers were Harlin Johnson, Henry Collins, R C Collins, Everett Stubbs, Fred Stubbs, and Leston Thornton. Burial was in the Collins Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Home. Out of town persons here for the services were Mr and Mrs Harve Smith, Thayer; Mr and Mrs Henry Ecton, Moberly, Kansas; Mr and Mrs Dean Piercy, Cushman, Ark; Otis Ellison and Thurman Ellison, Marshfield and Mrs Mary Osborne, Willow Springs. West Plains, will be held at 2 pm Saturday in the church at Siloam Springs with Rev Ira Johnson officiating. Mr Ellison died at 8 am yesterday at his home after suffering a coronary heart attack while eating breakfast. He was born in Douglas County Feb 12, 1882 to the late George and Cynthia Farrow Ellison. He spent his entire life in Douglas and Howell Counties. On June 13, 1933 he married Jane Collins, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ezekiel Collins. He was a member of thePentecost Church for 27 years.
