Note: from the book, "In Spite of Hill and High Water" written by Mabel Osborn Lovan "Bart was the proud one, always concerned about his personal appearance. He has also inherited his mothers ability in managing business matters. Once, after Bart had been married a few years and had two children, he decided to leave his family behind while he worked in the Kansas wheat fields. His wife Mary was due to have another child in early summer. In a few weeks Mary had become so heavy that doctor Osborn persuaded her to bring her children and live with her husbands family until her baby was born. When Mary gave birth to twins, a boy and some minutes later, a girl, the doctors family was quite excited. According to, available family history these were the first twins on the record. Later their joy was dimmed as the boy only lived to be four months old...." "Bart's wife Mary was the daughter of George and Cyntha Ellison. Mary was born near Cabool, Missouri but some years afterward George moved his family to Topaz, Missouri as he was employed by Bart Hutchenson in the erection of a large store building and mill. After completion of this job he worked at the mill and store which did a thriving business for many years to come."
