Note: West Plains Daily Quill April 2000 John VonAllmen services Tuesday Graveside services for John James VonAllmen, 90, West Plains, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at Oak Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains. Mr. VonAllmen died 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains. He was born June 17, 1909, at Rover, the son of Elmer Franklin and Nora Belle Jolliff VonAllmen. On Aug. 14, 1929, he was married at West Plains to Mary Ellen Collins. For several years before his retirement, he was a home builder in West Plains. He was of the Baptist faith with his membership in the First Baptist Church of West Plains. Survivors include his wife, Mary VonAllmen, of the family home; four daughter, Marvell Kassing, Chesterfield, June Pulos and husband, Gus, St. Louis, Barbara Parker and husband, Ned, Owasso, Okla., and sue Brown and husband, Dan, St. Charles; five grandchildren, Cindy Melvin, Jason Pulos, Steven Parker, Ellen Brown and Daniel Brown; three great-grandchildren, Billy Melvin, Catherine Melvin and Elena Grace Pulos; two brothers, Dean VonAllmen and Marlin VonAllmen, both of West Plains; two sisters, Bertha Willard adn Faye Kimbrough, both of West Plains; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lee VonAllmen, Wade VonAllmen and Raymond VonAllmen; one sister, Clara Trantham; and one son-in-law, William Henry Kassing. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. today, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
