Note: End Comes Suddenly to Mrs Cal Thompson Mrs Anna Thompson, 54, wife of Calvin Thompson of the Pleasant View Community, 4 miles north of West Plains, died suddenly at her home Saturday night at 10 o'clock. Death resulted from a hemmorage. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Alonzo Thompson of the family home, Pfc. Thorney Thompson with the US Armed Forces, overseas; Lawrence Thompson of West Plains and three daughters, Lougena Collins of Caulfield, Mrs Dorothy Driskell and Mrs Laverne Poe of West Plains.One son preceded her in death. Mrs Thompson was born March 6, 1890, in Cleveland County, Alabama, and came to Howell County 48 years ago with her parents. She had been a member of the Pentecost Church the last seven years. Funeral services were held this afternoon at Evergreen Church, south of West Plains, with the Rev Walter Mask of West Plains in charge, and burial was in the cemetery there. The Paige Robertsons of the Robertson Funeral Home were in charge of funeral and burial arrangements. *************** West Plains Journal, Nov 23, 1944 Anna Johnson Thompson was born in Cleburne County, Alabama, March 6, 1887, and died at her home three miles northeast of West Plains at 10 pm November 11. Mrs Thompson is survived by her husband, Calvin Thompson, three sons and three daughters; Lonzie Thompson of the family home, Lawrence Thompson of West Plains, Pvt Fonnie Thompson, who is somewhere overseas, Mrs Eugenia Collins of Caulfield, Mrs Dorothy Driskell and Mrs Luvana Poe, both of West Plains. All were here for the funeral except Pvt Fonnie Thompson. She is also survived by five sisters and four brothers, Mrs Lucinda Lung, Mrs Mary Jones, Mrs Hettie Aborn, Mrs Sallie Parker, all of West Plains, Mrs Myrtle Holmes of Kinsley, Kansas, Abe Johnson, Hugh Johnson, Jim Johnson, all of West Plains, and Riley Johnson of Hocomo. Mrs Thompson had eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs Thompson was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs John Wesley Johnson. She came to West Plains 48 years ago from Alabama and lived on a farm with her parents until her marriage to Calvin Thompson in 1912. Mrs Thompson was converted seven years ago in the Pentecostal Church. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, November 13, in the Evergreen Church, seven miles south of West Plains, with the Rev Charles Augotte of Mammoth Spring officiating.
