Notes
a. Note:   H89
Note:   Leon was born upon the cap rock near Post, Garza co, Texas. His father had moved the family to the area and lived in a dugout pit house until they could build a house . They moved to Ssm San Angelo for about six ,months when he was about 6 years old. Then to Brady, Texas until 1935. He attended three different Schools in Brady. They moved to Junction where he grew up. He helped his father in the wholesale produce business and then working his father's gas station with his brothers Joe and James drove the bulk gas truck for his father. After his children were born he moved to Marfa, presidio county, Texas where he built a Fina gas station which he ran until all the children left home then moved to Ruidoso , New Mexico. Where he and Tommie Jean ran the Starlight cabins for a number of years until they sold them and returned to Marfa then Eden and on to Junction and Back to Eden until Tommie Jean's untimely death from cancer. He went into the Navy during World War Two as did all Of his three brothers save for Bobby who was too young. I will always remember Leon as a jovial person who like to play games especially Skip Bo. He took his family on nice traveling vacations mainly through the west every year. Often staying in New Mexico in summer and winter. he was very close to his brothers and their families and also all of his sister in laws families. Often visiting them on weekends. He love Junction and still spends much time during the year when he is not doing his favorite thing, full time traveling in a Travel trailer. I would also describe and a frugle man paying cash whenever possible. See Scrapbook for Leon for stories, photos and family sheets. Video Tape also available.
