Notes
a. Note:   Excerpt from email from Bradley Walker: Abbie Gale Moffit's 1st husband was Noah Bost and she had three children by him, Caldonia, Thomas Jefferson & Rachel Bost. They still have descendants here in Warren County. Noah Bost was killed during the Civil War in 1861. She then married William Coppinger and had 5 children and died probably from childbirth as her and the baby's death dates are only a couple of days apart. They had William, Robert, Amanda, Francis Marion and the baby. Abbie Gale is buried at Philadelphia Cem. as A.G. Coppinger wife of W.M. Coppinger. Abbie Gale is the daughter of Adam & Rachel Moffitt. After Abigail's marriage to William Coppinger in 1863, the children of Noah Bost and Abigail were missing from the 1870 Grundy Co., TN census. Caldonia (13), Thomas Jefferson (11), and Rachael (10) would have been minors and probably living with other relatives. Note by James Hill: My mother Lizzie Abigail Bost was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Bost - she always spelled the name Abigail and said she was named after her grandmother. Noah was NOT killed in the Civil War. He enlisted on 6 September 1861, as a Sgt. in Co. A, 35th Regiment, Tennessee Infantry. (Capt. Albert C. Hanner - Commanding) He was stationed at Camp Smartt and was sent home sick shortly thereafter and died at his home on 19 October 1861. (Camp Smartt was not located at Smartt, TN it was near the Liberty Church just south of McMinnville.) (O yes up until recent years Smartt , TN was Smartt Station)
