Note: James Lacy Munson served in Company F, the "Pulaski Rangers", of the 1st Arkansas Confederate Mounted Rifles with his brother Picher. He was enlisted in Fort Smith, Arkansas on June 14, 1861 at age 23. His compiled service record, and the record written by Desmond Walls Allen indicate he was captured by the Union Army on 17 July 1863 near Jackson, Mississippi and was a POW for the remainder of the war. He was repatriated on June 12, 1865. Lacy filed for Confederate Veterans Pension on August 13, 1903, veteran number 10397. Mary Munson filed for Confederate Widows Pension, widow number 10397, on August 12, 1912. The application abstract lists the veteran's date of death as October 9, 1911, and lists the widows "cty" as Pike. It is assumed that they lived and he died in Pike County, Arkansas.
