Notes
a. Note:   , as a daughter of Tunis and Sarah (Van Syckle) Melick of Tweksbury Twp., Hunterdon Co. The children of Jacob and Susan Trimmer are recorded in a Bible "Published by the Brattleboro" Typographic Company, Brattleboro", Vt., 1840. The Bible passed from Jacob D. Trimmer to his osn, Peter Whitfield Trimmer, who is listed as Whitefield by Chambers but is correctly referred to by Mellick. He is listed on the Federal Census for the township of Readington, Hunterdon County, in 1860. He is listed at the age of 57. The census also shows an Eliza Leonard living with them she was 14 years old. It doesn't state that she was a domestic so she may be related.
Note:   Jacob D. Trimmer, son of David and Margaret (Pickel) Trimmer, resided in New Germantown (now Oldwick), Hunterdon County, New Jersey, where he married Susan Melick. The latter is described in A.D. Mellick's story of an Old Farm (1889) p. 655
