Note: This family shows up on the 1930 Federal Census Easton, Northampton, Pennsylvania. From the Easton Express, October 1, 1952 pg. 22: Burgen E. Pickel, 66, of 503 Reeder Street, died of a heart attach this morning in a garage at the home of G. S. Brown of 720 Mixsell Street. A retired employee of Alpha Portland Cement Comapny, he worked part-time at the Brown residence. He was pronounced dead by Dr. H. Y. Seidel. Coroner Martin J. Bechtel said death came from natural causes. Mr. Pickel was born in Stanton, Hunterdon County NJ a son of thelate Rynear and Cordelia Pickel. He lived in Easton for 50 years and was employeed by Alpha for 40 years prior to his retirement last July 1st. He was a garage attendant at the time of his death. Until last June, when he and Mrs Pickel moved to the Reeder street home, he resided at 421 Hamilton Street. Mr. Pickel was a member of Lehicton Lodge, Odd Fellow. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen C. Davis; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Arvesen, of Phillipsburg, and Mrs. Oouis Schworn of Washington D.C and three grandchildren. The funeral for Mr Pickel was conducted on October 4, in teh Shillinger Funeral home. The Rev. R. Paul Freed, pastor of College Hill Presbyterian Church, officiated. Burial was in Northampton Memorial Shrine. Paullbearers were Geore Mellon, Albert Shoenberger, Irvin Bretz, Russell Dickey, Robert Smith and Paul Arvesten.
