a. Note:   Sarah Catharine shows up on the New Jersey Fedeal Census of 1880, Morris County, Washington Twp. District 133. Her age at the time was listed as 28. From the Federal Census of 1910 it shows Sarah age 58. It also showed that they had one child but it did not live.
 John Pickel and Catharine Barkman, both of Fox Hill, Tewksbury Twp, were married by Rev. J. A. Blauvelt at German Valley, Washington Twp, Morris County, NJ, on October 11, 1873. He was age 25 son of Samuel & Debra Pickel, occupation farmer. She was age 24, dau of H. P. & Elizabeth Barkman.
  From the Easton Express: Coroner Morris W. Robinson of Clinton was called yesterday to Fairmount to investigate the death of Mrs. Sarah Pickel, an aged women, who was found dead about 10:52 am at her home there, where she lived alone. She was seen alive about the house the night before, Henry tote, a neighbor, found her lyig upon the floor when he went into her house the door of which stood open, upon an errand. Mrs. Pickel would have been 79 years old today and Coroner Robinson, in granting a burial permit, gave the cause of death general debility and hemhorrages of the brain. It is his opinion that she was fatally stricken while preparing supper Sunday evening, Mrs. Pickel;'s husband, John Pickel, died about a year ago. One sister survives. Deceased will be buried at Fairmount.
