Note: Edward registered for the WWI draft on September 12, 1918. His address was 1013 Mendel St., San Francisco, CA He was working at Miller & Lux as a laborer, and he stated his wife's name was Rose. His birthdate was shown as May 2, 1884, and his physical description was tall with a medium build, hazel eyes and brown hair. There was a report in the Oakland Tribune that a E. Aufort was charged with forging checks in Lodi, CA. (March 31, 1923, Sec. B, No. 90). There was a report in the Oakland Tribune that a fire was extinguished at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Edward Aufort of Lodi, CA. (Dec. 27, 1924, Sec. C, p. 9). Grace Ferry Aufort, Edward's wfie died at age 56, in Phoenix, AZ and was burried in Lodi, CA. Surviving her were Edward her husband and 4 children; Harvet Scott, Mrs. Francis Harrison of San Francisco, Lawrence Scott, and Mrs. Edna Cencirulo of Lodi A legal case is registered in California envolving Edward and his wife which set a State precedent for misrepresentation of a person's child bearing status prior to marriage. - Edward and Mabel recorded their anulment in January, 1934. (per Oakland Tribune neswspaper, January 30, 1934) - Edward lived in Lodi in the central valley of California. - Edward registered for the WWII draft, at age 54, while he was a patient at the Weimar Sanatorium in Weimar, Placer Co., California. On the card he indicated he had been born in Springfield, Massachusetts, and listed his brother as the person who would always know his (Edward's) address. - Edward was questioned about a hit and run death of Mr. John C. Notley, 54 of Long Beach, CA. The accident occured when Aufort was passing or being passed on the Napa-Vallejo Highway on October 18, 1938. Edward's car radiator was damaged and had traces of blood on it. Edward, 51, was cited as a resident of Dixon, CA at that time. - Edward died of tuberculosis at the Weimar Sanatorium. At the time he was 54 years old, and was married to a Martha. His residence was in Dixon, Ca. He is buried in Cypress Lawn Cenetery, San Francisco, CA.
