Note:   Grover was a fire fighter, and it is said that one day while driving the hook and ladder portion of the fire truck, the hook and ladder flipped while responding to an emergency, injuring Grover. His injury did not end his career however he had vertigo afterwards. Grover was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, Ca. on May 07, 1952.

  His family traces back to France before the French Revolution. Grover's great-grandfather, Charles Dalmas came to America with E. I. Dupont, the founder of the DuPont Company of Wilmington, Delaware.
  He also retired from San Francisco Fire Department.
  This was written from the obituaries of San Francisco Chronicle on April 28, 1873:
 Dalmas, Grover O. In this city, April 26, 1973 Grover O. Dalmas, beloved husband of Winifred M. Dalmas, loving father of Aileen C. Vacek, dear grandfather of Dennis M. Russell, great-grandfather of Casey and Ryan Russell, a retired member of S.F.F.D. Fireman and widows association and mutual aid association. Funeral Monday at 9:30 A.M. from Gantner, Fedler Kenny Chapel, 1965 Market St. at Duboce Avenue thence to St. Bridgets Church, where a mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Rosary, Sunday at 8:00 A.M. Internment, Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations to Cancer Society preferred.
