Note: [Bracey.paf] She lived on County Street till her husband died. I met her in Washington Park in 1976. I remember her during family funerals. She moved to Effingham Plaza on the fourth floor. She gave me the most important interview during my family research. She died from kidney failure on May 18, 1981. The doctor prescribed the wrong medication. On the day of her funeral, my mother and I were running late. We got to Twine Memorial Church were her funeral was being held. When we got to Olive Branch Cemetery, they were about to put her in the ground until I asked Jeff Fisher, a schoolmate and one of the members of the funeral staff to allow me to see her for the last time. it was against their policy but because of Jeff, I saw her and I was hurt to see her leave this world. Even though, she will never be forgotten. She is the main reason why the history of this family has reach the level that it is today. In April 1980, I interviewed her for the information concerning our family. She gave the names of the people from her all the way back to her grandmother, Jane Bracy. She gave alot of good information on her forbear.
