a. Note:   Jessie was born the eldest child of Mory Parker. According to Inez Alexander, his youngest daughter of his second marriage, his father was a white Northampton County man who may have came from Chowan County named Zack or Zachariah Parker. He was raised by his mother alone with his three siblings.
 He married Minnie Demory in 1895 in Jackson, Northampton County, North Carolina. He became an ordain minister in the late 1890's. They had four children. He became a travelling preacher who frequented Lawrenceville, Virginia. His son, William Henry was born in Lawrenceville in 1904.
 Jessie and Minnie were divorced. Jessie married Lucy Baskerville of Jackson, North Carolina. They had two children: Inez and Jessie B. Parker, Jr.
 Jessie died on February 22, 1931 in Jackson, North Carolina according to his daughter, Inez Parker Alexander. A photograph of him exist today.
