Note: William Camey (Russell) is an enigma. In the probate of Samuel Russell's Will in Jasper County, Iowa (1876), he mentions a William Camey who he says he has "raised and known as William Russell". Could this be a non-blood relative? A Mr. and Mrs. William Russell were guests at Thomas Greene and Nellie Davis' wedding in 1890. The 1880 Federal Census lists a William Russell and wife Emma living with their daughter, Laura, in Monroe, Madison Co., Iowa. Monroe is a town only 15 miles south of Newton. I believe this to be the elusive William (Camey) Russell spoken of in Samuel Russell's will. -DR
