Note: Mrs. Elizabeth Silver, widow of the late A. O. Silver, for many years a resident of Lynnville, died in Cleveland, Ohio, on Friday morning, May 2nd. The remains were brought to New Sharon where her sister, Mrs. J. J. Sparks resides, on Sunday night, and on Monday funeral services were held at the M. E. Church at that place, J. M. Rayburn, a brother of the deceased, with his family, of this city, being in attendance. After the services a special train on the Central brought the remains, accompanied by a large number of friends, to Lynnville for the final obsequies, and Mrs. Silver was laid to rest beside her husband, who had passed away several years ago. No woman was better known or more dearly loved by the people of Lynnville, than Mrs. Silver, who had resided among them for so long. Her age was about sixty-one years, and she had been a member of the M. E. Church from her girlhood. Her husband was a soldier in Company K, 28th Iowa. ~ The Newton Record, Thursday May 8, 1902, Page 1, Column 5.
