a. Note:   Aunt Bev was cremated OBITUARY Beverly Ann Provoncha, 67, of Grace Avenue, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital. Born in Albany, November 14, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Lillian Salisbury Kelly Sprackland and Arthur E. Sprackland. Mrs. Provoncha was a graduate of Maple Hill High School of Castleton, NY, and of the State University of Albany, where she earned two master’s degrees. She was an avid reader, storyteller and educator, whose life touched many area children. She was employed as an Elementary School teacher for many years, teaching at Schodack Central School and Putnam Central School, as well as a substitute teacher in various schools. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Essex County American Legion and served as County Legislative Chairman. She was also a member of the N.Y.S. Library Association. In addition to her parents, she was also pre-deceased by her beloved brother, George E. Sprackland. Survivors include the love of her life, her husband of 39 years, Thomas N. Provoncha; her devoted daughter, Carol A. Provoncha; her darling son, Christian T. Provoncha; her heart’s darling grandson, Brandon C. Provoncha; her “second daughter” Holly Barnes; sisters-in-law, Dorothy B. Provoncha, Marguerite Tofte, Annetta Mae Streeter, Kathleen Provoncha, Roswitha E Provoncha; a special soul sister, Susan D. B. McDanel; two brothers-in-law, Norman Provoncha and his companion Edna Warner, and George V. Tofte; and numerous cousins and nieces and nephews whose lives are dramatically and devotedly intertwined. Contributions in her memory may be made to local area schools.
  BEVERLY ANN PROVONCHA, 67, of Grace Avenue, Ticonderoga, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital. She was born in Albany, Nov. 14, 1939, the daughter of the late Lillian Salisbury Kelly Sprackland and Arthur E. Sprackland. Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. An American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Service will take place at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home. A memorial Mass celebrating her life will take place on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. The Rev. William G. Muench, pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga. Published in the Press Republican from 6/22/2007 - 6/23/2007.
