  A large automobile broke down on our street last Monday and Fred Provoncha took the party of six to Newcomb with his stage team.
  Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10 at the North Hudson Catholic Church for Fred Provoncha, with the Rev. Daniel Lyddy officiating. Mr. Provoncha's death was reported last week.
  Fred Provoncha, 87, died Tuesday evening at the Wells' Nursing Home
 in Ticonderoga. Born at Boreas River, he served for four years as
 superintendent of highways for the Town of North Hudson and also
 served as the mail stage driver for many years from Boreas River to
 Blue Ridge and from there to Moriah. Survivors include his wife, Minnie;
 and seven children,
 Gertrude Gregory of Schroon Lake;
 Mrs. Freda Provencha of Schroon Lake

 Ada Lamos of Long Lake;

  Fred Provancha's team came near having a bad mix up last .Saturday.
 While going over a rough piece of road a part of a threshing machine
 fell from the wagon, throwing Mr. Provancha's adopted son, Charles McDonell.
 Both the boy and the piece of the machine struck the- team
 frightening them. They started to run and dashed through a fence. Owing
 to Charles being young, spry and uninjured he was up and caught them
 before much damage was done.
