Norman Edward Provoncha NORMAN EDWARD PROVONCHA, 72, of High Springs, Fla., and Crown Point, N.Y., died Nov. 19, 2008, at North Florida Medical Regional Center in Gainsville, Fla. He was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., Dec. 31, 1935, the son of Frederick Lawrence and Laura Julia (Denesha) Provoncha. A full obituary will be published as soon as arrangements are finalized. Norman Edward Provoncha CROWN POINT/HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. — Norman E. Provoncha, 72, of High Springs, Fla., died Nov. 19, 2008, at North Florida Medical Regional Center in Gainsville, Fla. He was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., on Dec. 31, 1935, the son of Frederick Lawrence and Laura Julia (Denesha) Provoncha. Norm was employed by International Paper Company in Ticonderoga, where he was known as "Mumbles." Mumbles retired with 43 years of service. Norm served one tour of duty in the New York National Guard. He enjoyed going bullhead fishing, puttering around in his shop, playing cards and family gatherings. Norm was a loving father to 10 children and was a friend to everyone he ever met. Norm was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Nancy Rae (Hanson); his daughter, Judy Lynn Provoncha; and three brothers, Fred, Melvin and Bill Provoncha. He is survived by his longtime companion, Edna Warner of High Springs, Fla.; two sisters, Ann Streeter of Peru and Peggy and George Tofte of Sherrill, N.Y.; one brother, Thomas Provoncha of Ticonderoga; his children, David Hanson and his wife, Cathy of High Springs, Fla., Norman F. and Linda Provoncha of Ticonderoga, Donna and John Bell of Bedford, Ky., Gerald and Eva Provoncha of Port Henry, Richard Provoncha and Betty Smith of Port Henry, Anthony and Kathy Provoncha of Port Henry, Cindy and Tom Fairbrother of Crown Point, Patrick Provoncha of High Springs, Fla., Amy and Walter Dever of Mineville; 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Monday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m. at the Union Cemetery in Port Henry.
