  DEATH: Kneeland family bible record sez he died 3rd Nov, 1846
  Reference to Judge Willard recalls a. Landlord well-known here in Elizabethtown
 back in the early 40's. We refer to the late Simeon C.Kneeland,
 grandfather on the maternal side of the present editor of the
 Post. Mr. Kneeland kept the "Corner House" as a wayside inn in those
 early days. It stood alone on the corner, the site of The Windsor of
 to-day. A motto posted in the old "Corner House" by Mr. Kneeland
 read as follows:
  "Let my care be no man's sorrow Pay to-day and trust to-morrow."
 Landlord Kneeland eventually went west and on his return east
 was taken sick and died at Lyons, Wayne County, N. Y,, where his
 remains were buried. One of his sons, Benjamin L., is living in extreme
 old age at Eau Claire, Wis. Three of his daughters, Mrs. Lovini
 K. Brown of this place,Mrs, Huldah Joy of Eau Claire, Wis., and Mri
 Prudence 0. Spencer of Wallsville,PA also survive.
  Simeon Kneeland came into town
 from Montgomery county in 1839.
 but only stayed five years.
