R E S E A R C H (Sorry that the research is not footnoted, but the sources are of the same quality and usually the same repository as those sources in the Family Group Sheet.)
The family listed above is inconsistent with the statement that James moved to Argyle after the Civil War. They still are in Corinth as of the 1880 Census and there is no available information online to indicate that there was more than one James Woodcock family in Argyle in 1900 or 1910.
The second family is found in the 1870, 1880, 1890, 1900, 1910, and 1920 Census for Argyle, Washington, New York.
There is a Rootsweb connection showing James Henry’s wife being Julia Saville (4 Sep 1846 - ??) last updated 24 Aug 2002 by a Jody Woodcock. There is also a One World Tree (OWT) connection on Ancestry.com with no date or contact.
The support for Philamena as the wife for James comes from: Allen Woodcock, updated 25 Aug 2001 and 18 Dec 2002; Yvonne Ping, updated 7 Dec 2007 (Yvonne's info looks like a straight copy of Allen's); and Fred Provoncha, updated 30 Dec 2008
 The family looks like this:
 James H Woodcock b: 3 Sep 1844, NY d: aft 1920 (found in 1870, 1880, 1890, 1900, 1910, and 1920 [as Henry Woodcock] Census)
 m: ~1866 [24 Sep 1865, per OWT]
 Julia Ann Saville b: 4 Sep 1846, NY [possibly Hadley] d: 4 May 1913 (found in OWT and 1860, 1870, 1880, 1900, and 1910 Census)
[probably daughter of Benjamin and Anna Saville (found 1860 Census for Hadley, Saratoga, New York)]
 Children:
Lydia A Woodcock b: 25 Sep 1866, Argyle, NY d: 1867, Argyle, NY (found in OWT)
 Carrie M Woodcock b: 27 Dec 1867, Argyle, NY d: 10 Jan 1891 (found in OWT and 1870 and 1880 Census)
George A Woodcock b: 9 Jun 1869, Argyle, NY d: 16 Jun 1942, Glens Falls, NY (found in OWT and 1870 and 1880 Census)
 Mary E Woodcock b: 16 Jul 1871, Argyle, NY d: 2 Jan 1918 (found in OWT and 1880 Census)
Benjamin Harrison Woodcock b: 17 Apr 1873, Argyle, NY d: 29 Jun 1937 (found in OWT and 1880 Census)
Charles Augustus Woodcock b: ~1874 or 27 Jul 1877, Argyle, NY d: 5 Jan 1920 (found in OWT and 1880 Census)
Lemuel Carl Woodcock b: 16 Jul 1877, Argyle, NY d: 1961, Fort Edward, NY (found in OWT and 1880 Census)
Julia Francis Woodcock b: 6 Jul 1879, Argyle, NY d: (found in OWT and 1880 Census)
James Henry Woodcock, Jr b: 27 Mar 1881, Argyle, NY d: 6 Jan 1920, Argyle, NY (found in OWT and 1900 Census)
Elizabeth Woodcock b: 27 May 1883, Argyle, NY d: 21 Jul 1954 (found in OWT and 1900 Census)
 Mabel Woodcock b: 11 Jul 1885, Argyle, NY d: 1963 (found in OWT and 1900, 1910, and 1920 Census)
 Allen H Woodcock b: 28 Dec 1886, Argyle, NY d: 25 Feb 1887, Argyle (found in OWT)
Eliza Jane Woodcock b: 12 May 1888, Argyle, NY d: (found in OWT and 1900 Census)
To support this second family as the correct family for James Henry Woodcock:
 * In the 1880 Census they are living within three households of Lucy Ann Woodcock Rozelle, James’ younger sister.
 * There is also a Rich’d (possibly Richardson) Woodcock, age 21 working as a servant in the Daniel (probably Julia’s brother based on the 1870 Census) Saville household immediate to the Woodcock household.
 * Consider the name of child twelve, Allen H Woodcock
