Note: Ozias H KNEELAND Esperance * Cemetery Schoharie County, New York died July 26, 1895, age 87y LIVING IN FLA,MONTGOMERY CO,NY IN 1860 CENSUS. SO WAS A ORVILL KNEELAND. Death of Ozias H. Kneeland. Ozias H. Kneeland, eldest son ol tbe late Simeon Kneoland of Elizabethtown, died ut the home of his son Edgar, 202 Upton Avenue, Battle Creek, Mich., Thursday evening last at 6:30 o'clock, in the' 87th year of his age. Deceased was born near Charleston,Montgomery County, N. Y. October 30, 1808. In early life he married and settled at Burtonsville, N. Y., where he lived many yeare, being admired far and near for bit sterling honesty and tireless energj • During his stay at Burtonsville he became quite a grape raiser and the product of bis vineyard brought a good price each year. About ten years since, Mr. Kneeland's wife, having died, and his children having grown up, married and moved away from the section where he bad lived so long, he went to Battle Creek, Mich , where he has since resided-with his youngest son. A vigorous constitution brought him to tbe ripe old age of almost 87 years, his life being active and useful up to within the past few weeks. His industry brought him fairly-good returns and he spent the evening of his life calmly and contentedly, surrounded by children and grand children in the city of his adoption. In polities IVlr. Kneeland was i Democrat. He cast bis first vote for Andrew Jackson for President and voted for every Democratic Presidential nominee from that time to and including 1892, with one exception. In 1858 he temporarily drifted from his moorings of loyalty to the Democratic party, casting his vote for John C. Fremont, the Pathfinder of the Rocky Mountains. He also came here in 1873, in 1880 and again and for the last time in 1885. He is survived by one •rother, Benjamin, who resides nea> Nix Corners, Wis., and three sisters, Mrs. Huldab Joy, who resides at Nix Corners, Wis., Mrs. Prudenct Sponccr, of Geneva, Ohio, and Mra Lovina K. Brown, of Elizabetbtown. He is also survived by four daughters and two sons, the eldest son being 65 years of age.
