Partly thanks to contributions of records made by you, as well as by others, I have been able to get as far as I have in some of these families. This may look confusing or may seem to have too much, but I think it actually has too little. But for the list's sake I have pared this down. I hope something here will be useful. Jean LE TELIER (Jean le Tillier; ), born about 1630 - St. Lo, Normandy; died on/abt 4 September 1671 - New Utrecht, Long Island NY. Jean LE TELIER I married on 26 April 1665, New Amsterdam Dutch Reform Church, to Christina Pieterse Cresson (d/o Pierre Creison and Rachel Cloese): "Johan Letelier, jm van St. Loo in Normandyen; Christina Pieters, jd van Sluys in Vlaenderen" NOTE language difference --because this is a French name, that final 'r' in 'Le Tellier' will not be pronounced. It will sound like "le TELL-yay." NOTE spelling difference -- Christina (Cresson) Letelier witnessed at least one baptism in the New York Dutch church: 1666 Nov 07; Nicolaes de la Pleine, Susanna Creison; Jean; Nicolaes Dupu, Christina Tilly With Jean Letelier, they had children: 1. Jan/John LE TELIER II (Le Tillie; Tuelie/Tilje/Tilley/Touley), born about 1666, New York (New Amsterdam). Married to Judith Alburtis, b. bet. 1665/1677 - poss. Newtown, Long Island; possibly died before 1691 (not in her father's will). She was SUPPOSEDLY a dau of Elizabeth Scudder and Jan (John) Alburtis, who was son of "the" Pietro Cicero Alberti of Venice. 1.1. Joyce Le Tillie, aka Choyes Touley, aka Charity, b. ca 1696, New Ultrecht, Kings County, NY. Name also "Towley" and "Teulie," etc. Joyce/Choyes/Charity Letellier/ Tully/Touley, aka Charity married 23 Oct.1716, Abington Presbyterian Church, Bucks Co. PA, Jacob Vandergrift, s/o Johannes Vandergrift and Neeltje Volkers. Marriage recorded: "1716, Oct. 23, Vandegret, Jacob, and Choyes Touley." ***Here I think one might look for an additional child of Jan/John LE TELIER, just in case. I have not looked into this family much yet. 2. Susanne LE TELIER born ca 1667, married Teunis Egberts/Egbertson (1662-1721) son of Egbert Sanders. Had several children with him. NOTE: Egbert Sanders has TAYLOR descendents born 1720 - 1729 Staten Island. His granddau Harmpje Hagewout md Abraham TAYLOR; children bapt. in Port Richmond Dutch Reform Church. This should be checked out, matched up, and/or eliminated as a possibility. After Susannah's death, Teunis Egberts(son) married ca 1715 to Jannetje Dushane, widow of Peter Janse Roll. They bapt two children in Port Richmond Dutch church; maybe had a few more which were attributed to first wife of Teunis. Teunis Egberts' son Egbert Egbertson (son of the first wife Susannah LE TELIER) died in New Castle County (now Delaware) --from New Castle County land records it appears a grandson of his was John TAYLOR, although I have not found that connection. This John TAYLOR was md to Elizabeth VANDEVER, who was a child of William VANDEVER and Alice SMITH (d/o Francis), who had a brother-in-law Henry PEARCE. I have more info to share about the Egberts families and others in NCC, but it is Very Hard Work. 3. Rachel LE TELIER bapt. 11 April 1668 - New York Dutch Reform Church. NOTE spelling difference -- baptism record reads: 1668 Apr 11; Jean Tilee, Christina; Rachel; Nicolaes de Lapleine, Rachel Croisou Rachel LE TELIER married John Vannoy (ca 1653-1699). She was living as late as 1706. John Vannoy died on Staten Island. They had several children who also interconnect with Delaware families. I don't know what became of Rachel. 4. Mary LE TELIER ca 1669, maybe d/y; have NFI. After Jean Letelier died, Christina Pieters Cresson married again to Jacob GERRITSON of Staten Island (nickname "de haes" --"the hare"), son of Gerrit Janszen van Oldenburgh. They had several sons. Then in 1691, Jacob Gerritson gave power of attorney to his brother John to sell his Staten Island land and made arrangements to move to southrn NJ. In 1695 he bought 600 acres of below Chohansey, Salem County NJ from Thomas Budd, one of the English investors. This fam. has many land records &etc in southern NJ. The first four children of Christina Pieters Cresson and Jean Le Telier were still young children when their mother married Jacob Gerritson, and were likely raised as stepchildren/step-sibs in his household on Staten Island. But by 1691/1695, these children were probably adults, and may not have come with their mother to Salem county NJ. Still, this area should be thoroughly checked. Also check TULLY of Delaware and maybe Maryland. Judy, I have tons more work to do in this. I have other notes which I am trying to get into some reasonable order lately. Still following so many threads at once, it is quite difficult. But I hope something here opens up some more possibilities. Please let me know.
