Notes
a. Note:   Obituary: 1826 - 1918. Jane Agnes Hamilton was born January 6, 1826, in County Down, Ireland, and died at her home in Cass, July 14, 1918, as the result of a broken hip, being 92 years, six months and eight days old. At the age of 16 years she joined the Presbyterian church, and always attended church whenever possible. When she was 25 she came with her parents to America and settled in Wisconsin. She was one of the family of six children, all having preceded her to the better land. She was married to O. T. Day, and to this union was born four children, Simon Andrew, Alfred Anthony, George and Thomas William. George and Alfred preceded her in death. In 1858, the family removed to Iowa, and here she spent the remainder of her life. There is left to mourn her loss, her two sons, Simon and Thomas, the latter with whom she made her home for the past 35 years, seven grand-children, who did all that loving hands could do for her. Their greatest pleasure was when they could render her some service. At the last her greatest pleasure was to hear them read the bible, the only book she cared for. The funeral was held Tuesday at Cass church, Rev. Geo. Hughes officiating. Interment was at Cass Center Cemetery.

You should request or retrieve a copy of Jane's death record from the state - http://idph.state.ia.us/apl/health_statistics.asp
I would check at the county courthouse in Anamosa first, but they may not have the death records back to 1899. Here's the application and instructions - http://idph.state.ia.us/apl/common/pdf/vital_records/death_application.pdf You must have your application (by mail) notarized. You can have that done at your local bank, (most likely) for free.
or the Jones County Courthouse - http://www.jonescountyiowa.org/Pages/default.aspx
Birth, Death, and Marrigage records are maintained in the Recorder's Office, issuing Marriage Licenses, and Certified copies of Vital Records. As a service to the public, we take Passport pictures at a cost of $10.00.

Info on women's naturalization records. Most likely there are none for Jane.

HAMILTON men in the Tithe Applotment Books - The Tithe Applotment Books are a vital source for genealogical research for the pre-Famine period, given the loss of the 1821-51 Census records. They were compiled between 1823 and 1837 in order to determine the amount which occupiers of agricultural holdings over one acre should pay in tithes to the Church of Ireland (the main Protestant church and the church established by the State until its dis-establishment in 1871):
