Andrew Applegate was a son of Andrew, grandson of Thomas, great grandson of Thomas and Johanna (Gibbons), and great great grandson of Thomas Applegate, of Weymouth, b. 1635. He served in War of the. Revolution, in Company commanded by his wife's brother's Captain Peter Perrine(27). He subsequently, on Mch. 13, 1803, was married to Elizabeth Pew by Rev. George A. Woodhull. Issue by first marriage: Peter; Perrine; Wilson; Andrew; William; John; Elijah; Enoch; Lydia, m. Anderson ; Margaret, m. Riggs.

  Peter Perrine (10), as his name is thus spelt in his Family Bible, belonging to the compiler, was born on Staten Island, and settled at Cranbury, N. J., in 1730. His will, dated June 7, 1776, was proven at Perth Amboy, N. J., April 28, 1783 ; sons William and Isaac, executors. (Liber 24 of Wills, p. 275, Trenton.)
  In 171 5 was a member of Captain James Poillon's South Company of Colonial Troops, Richmond County, N. Y.
  Margaret Dey, a child of James Dey (b. 1680), of "Machaponix, N. J.," and a sister of James Dey, Jr. (b. July 12, 1706). Her father's will, dated Oct. 22, 1744, was proved Nov. 26, 1745, and mentions Peter Perrine as son-in-law. (Liber D of Wills, p. 348, Trenton.)
  James Dey (Sr.) was a son of Jan Dey and Mary Milliured, or Maliner, and a grandson of Laurenze Duytszen, or Dey, of Staten Island, and his first wife. Laurenze Duytszen, or Dey, married secondly Sara, widow of Anton Fontaine, of Staten Island.
  (The Fontaine's came, over in the ship Golden Beaver, in 1658.)
