  The records at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church dated the 26th day of July, 1870 show the wedding of George Straka to Anne Kasper. The marriage was witnessed by Franz Duchek (Frank Duchek was George's brother-in-law, married to Anne's sister Rosalia), a farmer from Jefferson County, Missouri and one other witness whose signature was not legible. George Straka was a stone mason.
 The records also show he died April 5, 1890 at the age of 43 years old. Cause of death was inflammation of the lungs. ( occupation stone mason )
