a. Note:   They had 9 children. They originally were members of the Sadsbury meeting until the Warrington meeting was formed closer to their home. Benjamin was an active Quaker member, often assigned to overseeing positions. They were taxed for almost 200 acres of land from 1779-1783.

 "William and Benjamin Underwood appointed on a committee, 3-14-1767, to visit the preparative meetings and inspect the conduct of overseers and othje active members;" "4-13-1782, appointed on a committee to superintend the repairs and additions to Warrington Meeting House to accommodate the Quarterly Meeting;" and "8-13-1785, L17-14-4 due to him" on account of addition and repairs to Warrington Meeting House.
