Notes
a. Note:   A person by the name of J.M. Harding, born July 15, 1819, died April 7, 1894 is buried in the Sarco Cemetery, Goliad County, Texas. This could be our ancestor, John M. Harding who was born around this time.
 Following Message from Sibyl Harding.
I should also tell you that John M. Harding remarried very late in life
after his first wife Mary had died. In the 1880 Goliad census you will find
him living with a wife Emaline and two Henson step-daughters. The wonderful
part of this story is that after the 1880 census, in 1881 at age 66, John
 M. and 2nd wife Emaline had a son! They named this son John Emmett Harding
and I have recently spoken to his grandson a Mr. Weyman Harding who still
 lives in Victoria county.
Mr. Weyman Harding confirms that his g-grandfather was named John Major
Harding and that they all lived and grew up around Sarco in Goliad county
even though John M. died in 1894 when John Emmett was about 12 years old.
This elderly gentleman's insistence that his g-grandpa's middle name was
"Major" coupled with your revelation of Harriet's son being named Major
Rylie constitutes to my mind a small breakthrough for all of us!! This
would be the first tangible evidence I've seen that John M.'s middle name
 might have actually been Major.
