a. Note:   Court Documents-County of DeWitt, Texas-states Washington Lockhart-son of Andrew Lockhart. Documents found in the Texas State Archives-Audited Republic of Texas files, reel #61 revealed:
 "A. Lockhart, administator for Washington Lockhart, deceased, filed 26th November 1839-$53.19/28th, 1835/military services; certificate states: "entitles Washington Lockhart, deceased, to pay from the date of the last payment made him, to Dec 28th, 1835, as a private in Captain York's Company. He entered the service in the Republic of Texas on the 28th day of September, 1835. Andrew Lockhart administator is entitled to receive his pay. signed A. Sidney Johnston, Secretary of War/11th December, 1835.
 Another document states: "If you drew my money on Washington Lockhart discharged, send the money to me by Alfred Kelso and you will oblige-yours October 23, 1840, signed Andrew Lockhart.
 TEXAS GENERAL LAND OFFICE, Austin, Texas-Survey N. 17 in _____N# 2 of one quarter league of land made for Washington Lockhart- It is situated on the S. W. side of the Guadalupe River-Beginning at a stake on the bank of said river fromwhich there is a pecan____inches in diameter bears N 33 W 6 1/2 varas and an over______oak 12 inches in diameter bears S 45 W 5 1/2 Varas.
