Two of James' brothers (Enoch and another one whose name I don't remember right offhand) were married to girls from the Maughon family (a name similar to Mangum) of Chatham Co.? Enoch moved to Dallas Co., AL along with James. Enoch remained in Dallas Co., 1850 census shows him there. This Maughon family's surname is also spelled Mangham, and I think it may be possible that Mollie was actually the daughter of, for instance, Jonathan Ruben Bell and a Mary "Mangum" before he married Martha Rice Davis in Attala Co., MS in about 1840 or so, and not actually Martha Davis' child by an earlier marriage.
