a. Note:   Bemis Foster husband of Polly was mentioned in a land transaction Albany Co. NY Deed Book 111 page 337/339. Polly was the one of the grand children of Jeremiah Young - Rensselaerville Town, Albany Co. NY. Also mentioned were Hannah wife of Gilbert Taber and Esther wife of John Hunter all living in Wisconsin 5/19/1851. Jeremiah Young had a daughter Catherine b ca 1781, sons Peter b ca 1784 and John b 1785. I am working on the Jung-Young family. (per Carol Barclay from Genealogy.com. 10-23-2000)

  Adams, at the 1/4 line of Sec. 18 & 19 was for a few years names in the postal guide and a little burial ground is one mark of it's site. It was not a village but a neighborhood.
  Bemis Foster bought an interest in the water power in Sec. 31 in 1854. This is the outflow of Mill Lake, of the Lauderdale group. Here he ground grists until 1865 when he sold to William Patterson, who at once conveyed the mill to Wm. B. Lean, whose flour had a wide demand. There are six school districts wholly within the township limits, besides a joint district with Eagle and Lagrange. This was all within Troy township.
